How does your media product represent particular social groups?
The character Raqeebul from our opening sequence is more or
like the other characters, as in the type of character they are and the movies
they star in. The other actors are Robert Di Niro (the godfather) and Al Pacino
(Scarface). The similarities of the character Raqeebul from our opening
sequence and the other two actors is that they all always have the same sense
of costume, they always are seen in smart clothes such as suits, ties this
suggests that they have wealth and power. In addition there appearance doesn't give
people a good first impression because clearly they all look like convicts and
has the villain look, they have a look which people would be afraid off, like
Al Pacino has a scar on his face which shows a violence remark, it makes the audience
think how did he get the scar, and gives them an idea of what kind of person he
is. Robert Di Niro old age and professional look makes him look like a businessman
within the drug trade, and Raqeebul has an serious look and has appearance of an
violent, unpredictable man, his the youngest out of all of the characters. But his
age can suggest that he might have family members that he works for that are at
a higher status, which are commonly related to a lot of gangster movies. They are all within gangster or crime movies
because of their appearances and other aspects and they are all seemed to use
violence if they don’t get want they want, and they all where part of a group
or gang of people working under them which shows they obtain high statuses. The
differences between these characters are that Robert Di Niro is negotiable, relaxed
out and can be friendly sometimes but still dangerous, and Raqeebul is always
angry and would torture to get answers, and Al Pacino would get ballistic and
would assassinate people he thinks does deserves to live. They all have distinguish
minds and personalities.
