--> EVALUATION ACTIVITY 5
how did you attract/address your audience?
The gender of our target audience was males’ teenagers over the age of 15 as the movie is rated15. It is very important for us that we are able to attract and address the audience for our film, so that our movie does not fail. There were a lot of ways to attract our audience, one way we used our props for attraction such as the guns on the table, which will attract the teenagers because they will know then the movie is action, which is most male teenagers favourite genre, also they will know that the movie is going to be dark and dangerous which is what they like. Also the Rolex watch was a form of attraction because the audience will think, guns and Rolex means criminal, which are target audience would like this kind of characters because they are into violence and money.
Also they would know that the movie is a big budget movie because of the expensive props, which will make them think that the movie would be good because the movie costs lots, and when people sees movies as low budget then sometimes people would be put off. The soundtrack that is used is fast paced and powerful, which will attract the audience because it will create tension and suspense when they watch the opening sequence, the music sounds like something dangerous will happen which the our target audience would like. The locations in our film would attract the audience because the locations are rough and gritty areas which the audience would like to hang out or likes the sight of the areas. Also the graveyard location can attract the audience because it makes the film look more scary and dangerous because graveyards are dead people are buried, which shows that the movie is dark and dangerous, which can attract the audience.
The story of the film attracted the audience because of the characters, for example the main mob boss, has a personality which people wont like, so then the audience will get interested and think who is he? , what does he do? Also he is a threatening character which male teenagers like because they also want to be like that with power and money, and people scared of you. The audience will know that the character is rich because of the expensive watch he has and also the smart clothes he wears.
Our film has similarities to other films such as Unknown, the Bourne ultimatum because they both are a action/thriller, our film contains guns and blood, same as the other movies, which people who like the Bourne series and Unknown will be interested in ours. Also our movie contains bad guys just like both of the other films which then we would have the same audience as, the Bourne series and Unknown, by showing the guns and bad guys it will attract the Bourne fans, which then they would want to watch our film because it is similar to the Bourne movies.
Our unique selling point is that we added love into our story of our film so that it can expand our target market, so we can have more increased number of females watching our film. Females are delicate and gentle, which they are mostly into love then action violence, so by including love into our film we might be able to have some female viewers which mean bigger profits, as we get a larger audience.
